Douar Samra, a traditional Berber home, doesn't intrude; it’s in the very fabric of its people and its natural element: Imlil Valley, the High Atlas Mountains... Prepare to be breathtaken!

Lovingly restored and furnished by Jacqueline, Samra is surrounded by gardens bursting with flowers and vegetables and shaded by fruit and nut trees. From the roof terraces, you will enjoy the sun and the stunning views. The dining room is, with a big open fire, a cosy place to chill out with the other guests. The peacefulness of the house and village fosters a ‘let’s just relax’ mood with plenty of quiet corners to hide away in. We recommend you our Hammam with wood-burning stoves.

Rooms

As a guest, you are more than pampered; you are adopted into the free and noble spirit of Berber life and hospitality. As Jules the donkey ensures your safe arrival, Jacqueline welcomes you with open arms. Omar tends the garden, growing delicious vegetables which are cooked by Rashida and presented to you by Mohammed. Dinners are comunal, and while you experience a tagine that will make your heart sing, one of us will be lighting the fireplace in your room and tucking a hot water bottle in your bed. Our rooms, with vistas to the many hues of ‘the mountain of mountains’, speak for themselves.
